Fresh Air, Terry Gross and Tonight's Virtual Event
Tuesday 7 pm, with EJ Dionne via Harvard Bookstore
THE TEN YEAR WAR is out today, for real, and I was thrilled to appear on Fresh Air with Terry Gross to mark the day.
We talked about the book — the story of the Affordable Care Act’s enactment and implementation, and then the efforts to repeal it. We also discussed the Biden administration’s plans and where the debate might go from here.
We even had time to take up some other topics, including COVID-19 vaccine distribution and the struggle of families with loved ones in long-term care — a subject I know well, from personal experience, and that came up in the interview near the end.
You can listen to the whole thing here: https://www.npr.org/2021/02/23/970487169/what-does-the-war-over-obamacare-reveal-about-our-governing-bodies

Lots of people have asked me: Is getting interviewed by Terry Gross as interesting as listening to her? Answer: Yes.
Tonight’s Virtual Book Event
THE TEN YEAR WAR virtual tour starts tonight, with a zoom event sponsored by Harvard Bookstore in Cambridge, MA, and featuring author/columnist/pundit E.J. Dionne as a special guest host.

This is a real treat for me, because so much of what I learned about politics came from reading him, especially his books.
Tonight’s discussion should be lively, illuminating and with lots of relevance to the debates in Washington right now, especially when it comes to how the Biden administration will (or won’t) work with Republicans.
Hope you can join us!
